Wendell Anderson is a former Minnesota Governor and US Senator. He served in the US Army and also represented the United States in the 1956 Olympic Games in hockey. As governor, he presided over the Minnesota Miracle that reformed Minnesota's financing of school districts and local governments with a plan to ensure that every child in Minnesota received a good public education regardless of the property tax base in his or her community.

Former State Auditor Judi Dutcher

Judi Dutcher served as Minnesota State Auditor for eight years, from 1995-2003. She served as both a Republican and Democrat, and spoke at the Democratic National Convention during her term in office. She now lives with her family in Minnetonka, working as the President and Director of the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis.

Former Secretary of State Joan Growe (St. Paul)

Joan Growe's 24 years of service as Secretary of State of Minnesota oversaw the implementation of same-day voter registration. This was the first legislation of its kind in the country, and has undoubtedly contributed to Minnesota's historically high voter turnout.

Former DFL US Senate Candidate Jerry Janezich (Chisholm)

Jerry Janezich served in the Minnesota state legislature for over a decade in both the House and Senate before running as the DFL endorsed candidate for the US Senate in 2000. He co-owns Tom & Jerry's Bar in Chisholm.

State Auditor Rebecca Otto

Rebecca Otto was elected as Minnesota’s 18th State Auditor in 2006. She is a former small business owner, school board member, and state Representative (from the Stillwater area) named "New Legislator of the Year" in 2004 by the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees. A former environmental science teacher whose home is powered by her family's own wind turbine, she has been called "the greenest politician in Minnesota."

Former Rep. Doug Peterson (Madison)

Doug Peterson represented Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac Qui Parle and Swift counties during his years in the state legislature. A teacher and farmer, he served on the House Agriculture and Environment & Natural Resources committees throughout his tenure and was a strong advocate for rural Minnesota communities.

Asst. Senate Majority Leader Tarryl Clark (St. Cloud)

Senator Tarryl Clark has represented District 15 since 2005. Clark has focused on education, health care and economic development in the Senate, and served as Vice Chair of the Rules and Administration committee. She has been a strong advocate of "green jobs" in renewable energy to boost Minnesota's economy while improving the environment.

Sen. Ellen Anderson (St. Paul)

Sen. Ellen Anderson represents District 66, which includes northern St. Paul and Falcon Heights. Her accomplishments include passing strong renewable energy standards for Minnesota, for which she received the 2007 "Vision Award" from the Democratic Women Leadership Coalition and DFL Feminist Caucus.

Sen. Tom Bakk (Cook)

State Senator Tom Bakk has represented the 6th Senate District in Minnesota's Arrowhead region for two terms, after serving in the State House for eight years. He is currently the chair of the taxes committee, serves on Rules and Administration, and in the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Budget Division of the Finance Committee.

Sen. Linda Berglin (Minneapolis)

Sen. Linda Berglin represents District 61 in Minneapolis. She has served in the Minnesota Legislature for over 35 years, first in the House and now with over 20 years in the Senate. Sen. Berglin currently chairs the Senate Health and Human Services Budget Division. The NAACP, the JOBS NOW Coalition, the Minnesota Women's Consortium, the National Association of Social Workers and many other organizations have awarded Sen. Berglin for her dedication to fighting for affordable health care, women's issues and other progressive causes.

Sen. Don Betzold (Fridley)

Sen. Don Betzold is currently serving his fifth term representing Senate District 51, located in Anoka County. He chairs the State Government Budget Division of the Finance Committee. Sen. Betzold has been a lawyer and a Colonel with the Army Reserves.

Sen. Terri Bonoff (Minnetonka)

Sen. Terri Bonoff is serving in her first term representing Minnetonka's District 43 in the Minnesota Senate. Sen. Bonoff has dedicated much of her Senate work to education and serves as vice-chair of the E-12 Education Budget Division.

Sen. Jim Carlson is currently serving his first term representing Senate District 38, the city of Eagan. He is Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee. In addition to his legislative work, Sen. Sen. Richard "Dick" Cohen (Saint Paul)

Sen. Dick Cohen has served in the state legislature for over 30 years, beginning in the House. He is now in his 7th term representing District 64 in St. Paul. He chairs the Senate Finance Committee. He is a strong supporter of the University of Minnesota.

Sen. Kevin Dahle (Northfield)

State Sen.-Elect Kevin Dahle won a special election to represent District 25, which includes the cities of Northfield, New Prague and Faribault. He teaches high school social science in Northfield and is eager to begin working for affordable health care and increased funding for education when he gets to the state legislature.

Senator D. Scott Dibble is currently serving his 2nd term representing Senate District 60, located in Hennepin County. He sits on the Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications, Environment and Natural Resources, Finance - Economic Development Budget Division, Finance - Transportation Budget and Policy Division, Taxes, and Transportation Committees. He attended the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas.

Sen. John Doll (Burnsville)

Sen. John Doll is currently serving his first term representing Senate District 40, including the cities of Savage, Burnsville and Bloomington. He serves as Vice Chair of the Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications Committee.

Sen. Linda Higgins (Minneapolis)

Sen. Linda Higgins has represented District 58 since 1997. Serving as majority whip since 2001, Linda Higgins has fought for smaller class sizes, affordable health care and a cleaner environment. Her legislative accomplishments include increased funding for after-school enrichment, basic sliding-fee childcare and numerous improvements in her North Minneapolis District.

Sen. Keith Langseth (Glyndon)

Senator Keith Langseth is currently serving his 9th term representing Senate District 09, including Clay, Wilkin and Traverse counties. A dairy farmer by training, Sen. Langseth is Chair of the Capital Investment Committee.

Sen. Dan Larson (Bloomington)

Senator Dan Larson is serving his first term representing Senate District 63, including Richfield, part of Bloomington and South Minneapolis. Before being elected to the Senate, he served four terms in the house for District 63B. An alumnus of the University of Minnesota and Normandale College, Senator Larson is Vice Chair on the Senate Taxes Committee.

Sen. Ron Latz (St. Louis Park)

Sen. Ron Latz represents Hopkins, St. Louis Park and part of Golden Valley. An attorney who attended Harvard Law School, he served in the Minnesota State House before his election to the Minnesota Senate in 2006. He is vice-chair of the Public Safety Budget Division and Senate sponsor of the bill to create an I-35W bridge collapse victims' compensation fund.

Sen. Tony Lourey (Kerrick)

Sen. Tony Lourey is currently serving his first term representing Senate District 8, consisting of Carlton County, Pine County, Kanabec County, and parts of Isanti and St. Louis Counties. He serves as Vice Chair of the State and Local Government Operations and Oversight committee. Sen. Lourey and his family are members of the Minnesota Sustainable Farming Association and the Minnesota Farmers Union.

Sen. Ann Lynch (Rochester)

Sen. Ann Lynch, a Hamline grad, is in her first term representing District 30 in Rochester. She serves as the vice-chair of the Finance Committee’s Health and Human Services Budget Division.

Sen. Jim Metzen (South Saint Paul)

Senator Jim Metzen has served in the Minnesota legislature for over 30 years, first in the House of Representatives and currently in the Senate. A South St. Paul resident, his district also includes Mendota Heights, West St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights and part of Eagan. Senator Metzen is President of the Senate and chair of the Business, Industry and Jobs Committee.

Sen. Mee Moua (Saint Paul)

Sen. Mee Moua, an attorney and community activist, has represented St. Paul’s Eastside since her election in 2002. In the Minnesota Senate, she has worked to protect civil rights, increase affordable housing units, and improve access to public transportation. She also chairs the Judiciary Committee. Sen. Moua is the highest ranking Hmong American elected official in the United States.

Sen. Steve Murphy (Red Wing)

Sen. Steve Murphy is currently serving his fifth term representing Senate District 28, including Goodhue, Wabasha and Winona Counties. Sen. Murphy chairs the Transportation Committee, and the Governor and Senate leadership have appointed him to several Workforce Development Councils.

Sen. Rick Olseen (Harris)

Sen. Rick Olseen is currently serving his first term representing Senate District 17, which includes part or all of Chisago, Anoka, and Isanti Counties. Prior to his election, Rick served as Chisago County District Two Commissioner for four years and a North Branch School Board member for ten years.

Sen. Mary Olson (Bemidji)

Sen. Mary A. Olson serves District 4 (Bemidji). In her 1st term, Sen. Olson has earned the position of Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee, where she uses her UND Law School education and experience as an attorney to work toward civil justice.

Sen. Sandy Pappas (Saint Paul)

Sen. Sandy Pappas was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in 1984 and is currently serving her sixth term. She represents Senate District 65, located in St. Paul, and is Chair of the Higher Education Committee.

Sen. Yvonne Prettner-Solon (Duluth)

Elected in a special election in 2002, Senator Prettner-Solon is currently serving her third term for Senate District 07, including Duluth. A graduate of University of Minnesota-Duluth and Twin Cities campuses, Senator Prettner-Solon worked as a Clinical Psychologist in Duluth prior to her tenure as a legislator. She is chair of the Senate Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications Committee.

Sen. Patricia Torres Ray (Minneapolis)

State Senator Patricia Torres Ray is currently in her first term representing District 62(Minneapolis). Her committee work includes serving as the Vice Chair of the Health, Housing, and Family Security Committee. She holds two degrees from the University of Minnesota and works as a consultant.

Sen. Ann Rest (New Hope)

Sen. Ann Rest was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1984, where she served until her election to the Minnesota Senate in 2000. In the Senate she represents District 45, which includes New Hope, Robbinsdale and Crystal. Sen. Rest chairs the State and Local Government Operations and Oversight committee and focuses on issues of tax policy, education funding and transportation.

Sen. Sharon Erickson Ropes (Winona)

Sen. Sharon Erickson Ropes is currently serving her first term representing Senate District 31, consisting of Houston, Fillmore and Winona County. She serves as Vice Chair of the Agriculture and Veterans Committee. Sen. Erickson Ropes is the current President of the Minnesota State PTA. She also served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps for five years and served on the Winona Area Public School Board of Directors for four years.

Sen. Tom Saxhaug (Grand Rapids)

“Al believes, as I do, in clean water and healthy, sustainable, multi-use forests. And when elected he will be a strong advocate for our way of life in northern Minnesota.”
Sen. Tom Saxhaug is serving his second term representing District 03, which includes Grand Rapids and International Falls. Before his election to the Minnesota Senate, he served as an Itasca County Commissioner.

Sen. Linda Scheid (Brooklyn Park)

Senator Scheid was first elected to the Minnesota State Legislature in 1976. After serving 14 years in the House, Scheid was elected to the Senate in 1996. She is currently serving her fourth term representing District 46. Senator Scheid is the chair of the Committee for Commerce and Consumer Protection. She also serves on the Business, Industry and Jobs, Capital Investment, Judiciary committees as well as the Education division of the Finance committee. Senator Scheid received a bachelors degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. She went on to attend William Mitchell College of Law.

Sen. Katie Sieben (Newport)

Senator Katie Sieben was elected in 2006 to represent District 57 in the Minnesota Senate, after serving two terms in the state House. She is vice-chair of the Capitol Investment Committee, and her legislative interests include transportation and making college affordable.

Sen. Rod Skoe (Clearbrook)

Sen. Rod Skoe is a farmer and legislator who represents District 2 in northwestern Minnesota, which includes parts of Norman, Polk, Mahnomen, Clearwater, Becker, Hubbard, Beltrami and Pennington counties. He chairs the Senate panel on property taxes.

Sen. LeRoy Stumpf (Plummer)

Sen. LeRoy Stumpf chairs the Senate E-12 Education Budget Division. He is serving his 8th term representing the northwestern corner of Minnesota, including Kittson, Roseau, Marshall, Pennington, Red Lake and Polk counties.

Council Member Jeff Anderson (Duluth)

Council Member Jeff Anderson was elected to an at-large seat on the Duluth City Council in 2007. He was born and raised in Ely and attended Bemidji State University before moving to Duluth to attend UMD. A former radio DJ and a veteran of the Minnesota Army National Guard, he is also a member of the Duluth Housing Commission and the 8th Congressional District DFL Board of Directors.

Mayor Chris Coleman (Saint Paul)

Mayor Chris Coleman has been a champion of affordable housing, the environment and the arts. Before taking office in 2005, Mayor Coleman spent eight years working in Hennepin County as a public defender and prosecutor. Mayor Coleman was born and raised in St. Paul, and attended the University of Minnesota for both undergraduate and law school.

Minneapolis Board of Education Director Peggy Flanagan (Minneapolis)

Peggy Flanagan currently serves as the Director for the Minneapolis Board of Education and senior organizer and trainer for Wellstone Action. Flanagan has worked on numerous city organizations that emphasize issues in education, religion, and the Native American community.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman (Minneapolis)

Mike Freeman served two terms as Hennepin County Attorney in the 1990s, and has recently returned to that position. Under his leadership the county attorney's office is focusing on working against gang violence and identity theft, and reducing truancy.

Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner (White Bear Lake)

Susan Gaertner has served as Ramsey County Attorney since 1994, and is the first woman to hold the position. Her work has focused on public safety problems. Gaertner is a nationally recognized and honored attorney.

Council Member Elizabeth Glidden (Minneapolis)

Elizabeth Glidden's efforts in Minneapolis' 8th Ward have included taking on the challenge of reconstructing I-35W. Additionally, Glidden works on economic development along Lake Street, and advocates innovative solutions to transportation issues her ward faces.

Council Member Lisa Goodman (Minneapolis)

Council Member Lisa Goodman represents Ward 7 of Minneapolis, which includes Downtown residential and business areas, Metro State University, Minneapolis Community College, the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis Campus and North Central Bible College. She served as the executive director of Minnesota NARAL until her election to the city council in 1997.

Council Member Lee Helgen (Saint Paul)

Lee Helgen currently serves in Ward 5 of the St. Paul City Council, where he is the Council's Vice President. Councilman Helgen is also the Secretary of the St. Paul Public Library Board, as well as the Treasurer for the St. Paul Housing and Redevelopment Authority.

Council Member Betsy Hodges (Minneapolis)

Council Member Betsy Hodges is serving her first term as a Minneapolis City Council Member representing Ward 13 in southwest Minneapolis. She previously served as the Development Director for the Minnesota Justice Foundation, a legal aid organization which matches law student volunteers with legal services agencies.

Council Member Diane Hofstede (Minneapolis)

City Councilor Diane Hofstede was a member of the Minneapolis Public Library board for over twenty years before her election to the Minneapolis City Council in 2005. She received the Minneapolis Award for Outstanding Service to the City in 1998.

Council President Barbara Johnson (Minneapolis)

Council Member Barb Johnson represents the 4th Ward in northwest Minneapolis. She is a registered nurse and has previously served on the Metropolitan Parks and Open Space Commission and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Commission. She is a graduate of Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

Council President Kathy Lantry (St. Paul)

Life-long resident of Ward 7 (southeast St. Paul), Lantry's Presidency on the St. Paul City Council has emphasized enhancing community accessibility, building strong neighborhoods, and finding innovative solutions to St. Paul's budgeting challenges.

Council Member Robert Lilligren (Minneapolis)

City Councilor Robert Lilligren has been self-employed in housing development and has advised non-profit housing groups in Minneapolis, so he brings a strong background in housing and transportation issues to the Minneapolis City Council.

Commissioner Rafael Ortega (Saint Paul)

Commissioner Rafael Ortega represents District 5 of Ramsey County, which includes the Mac-Groveland, Highland, Downtown, West Side, Dayton's Bluff and West Seventh communities. He was the first Hispanic elected to a County Board in Minnesota. As commissioner, he has been a leader on metro area transit, working to secure funding for the Central Corridor and the Union Depot. He has also focused on affordable housing.

Council Member Paul Ostrow (Minneapolis)

“I'm supporting Al Franken because he's been a champion of progressive causes. I'm supporting Al Franken because his campaign is all about energizing and mobilizing people, and that's how progressives win in Minnesota. I'm supporting Al Franken because he's done so much for the DFL. I'm supporting Al because I think he has the best chance of beating Norm Coleman. Council Member Paul Ostrow attended the University of Minnesota Law School and worked as a criminal prosecutor and municipal attorney until 1997, when he was elected to the Minneapolis City Council representing Ward 1, in Northeast Minneapolis. He has served on the Board of Directors for East Side Neighborhood Services, a nonprofit agency providing basic needs services to immigrant, refugee and low income families.

Council Member Roger Reinert (Duluth)

City Councilor Roger Reinert joined the Duluth City Council in 2004. A former high school teacher and University of Minnesota assistant professor, he also started an educational consulting firm. His priorities on the city council include improving housing opportunities and the Duluth rental housing market.

Commissioner Victoria Reinhardt (White Bear Lake)

Ramsey County Commissioner Victoria Reinhardt represents Maplewood, North St. Paul and White Bear Lake. She has been a leader on environmental issues as part of the National Recycling Coalition, the Minnesota Waste Education Coalition and in the Minnesota Office of Environmental Assistance in waste and pollution prevention.

Council Member Ralph Remington (Minneapolis)

Council Member Ralph Remington is a long-time political activist who has worked as a union organizer and a social service director at Pillsbury Neighborhood Services. He was elected in 2005 to represent Ward 10 of Minneapolis, which includes Lake Calhoun and Uptown.

Council Member Will Rossbach (Maplewood)

Council Member Will Rossbach has served as the President of the Ramsey County League of Local Government and as a member of the Rush Line Corridor Task Force member. He has served on the Maplewood City Council for four years, and was re-elected in November 2007.

Council Member Sandy Colvin Roy (Minneapolis)

City Councilor Sandy Colvin Roy was first elected to the Minneapolis City Council in 1997 after working for the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners for over ten years. She is a member of the Minnesota Women's Political Caucus and Transit for Livable Communities.

Mayor R. T. Rybak (Minneapolis)

R.T. Rybak was elected Mayor of Minneapolis in 2001, and took office as Minneapolis faced deep state and federal budget cuts. He balanced the city's budget through fiscal reforms which reigned in government spending and created new affordable housing units. As mayor, his priorities have also included transportation, building a green economy and cracking down on crime.

Council Member Dave Thune (Saint Paul)

“What happens in Washington directly affects everyone in Saint Paul, and we need Al there fighting for us.”
Council Member Dave Thune has been a long-time strong presence on the St. Paul City Council, where he authored St. Paul's Clean Air Act. He represents Ward 2 of St. Paul, which includes downtown and the West Side.

Speaker of the House Margaret Anderson Kelliher (Minneapolis)

Speaker of the House Margaret Anderson Kelliher was elected in 1998 to serve District 60A in Minneapolis. Speaker Kelliher grew up on a Mankato dairy farm and attended Gustavus Adolphus College, then went on to the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Speaker Kelliher is dedicated to transportation and housing issues.

House Majority Leader Tony Sertich (Chisholm)

Rep. Tony Sertich has represented District 5B on the Iron Range since his election in 2000 at age 24. He is currently House Majority Leader and chairs the House Rules and Legislative Administration Committee.

Rep. Tom Anzelc (Balsam Township)

Rep. Tom Anzelc is serving his first term representing House District 3A, including Itasca, Koochiching, and Lake of the Woods counties. Rep. Anzelc is a former teacher and county commissioner and has served more recently as an official for the Labor Union Council of Minnesota and North Dakota.

Rep. John Benson (Minnetonka)

Rep. John Benson is currently serving his first term representing House District 43B, covering Minnetonka and Plymouth. Rep. Benson was a public school teacher for 35 years and is a recipient of the Minnesota Presidential Teacher of the Year Award.

Rep. Karla Bigham (Cottage Grove)

Rep. Karla Bigham is serving her first term representing Newport, St. Paul Park and parts of South St. Paul and Cottage Grove. She is a paralegal and received her degree from Winona State University.

Rep. Robin Brown (Austin)

Rep. Robin Brown is currently serving her first term representing House District 27A, covering Freeborn County and part of Mower County.

Rep. Augustine "Willie" Dominguez (Minneapolis)

Rep. Kent Eken (Twin Valley)

Rep. Kent Eken is currently serving his third term representing House District 02A, including parts of Becker, Norman and Polk county. A teacher by training, Rep. Eken serves as Chair of the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

Rep. Tim Faust (Mora)

Rep. Tim Faust is currently serving his first term representing House District 8B, including part or all of Kanabec, Pine, and Isanti Counties.

Rep. Patti Fritz (Faribault)

Rep. Patti Fritz has represented District 26B since 2004. A Licensed Practical Nurse, Fritz has championed better and more affordable healthcare for Minnesota and serves as vice chair of the Health and Human Services Committee. Representative Fritz has spoken out against proposed budget cuts that target the elderly, children and the disabled.

Rep. Mindy Greiling (Roseville)

Rep. Mindy Greiling is currently serving her eighth term representing District 54A, which includes parts of Roseville and St. Anthony. A former elementary school teacher and school board member, she has been awarded the Environmental Leadership Award by the MN League of Conservation Voters three times, most recently in 2005.

Rep. Alice Hausman (Saint Paul)

Rep. Alice Hausman is serving her 10th term representing District 66B in St. Paul. A Concordia University grad, she chairs the Capital Investment Finance Division.

Rep. Larry Haws (St. Cloud)

Rep. Deb Hilstrom (Brooklyn Center)

Rep. Debra Hilstrom currently serves District 46B, representing Brooklyn Center. As a lifelong resident of her district, she has also served on the Brooklyn Center City Council and the Brooklyn Center Planning Commission. Last year, the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association named Rep. Hilstrom "Legislator of the Year" for her work on behalf of law enforcement officers.

Rep. Frank Hornstein (Minneapolis)

State Representative Frank Hornstein has served District 60B district for six sessions. He is a graduate of Macalester College and received a master's degree at Tufts University, both degrees within the field of environmental studies. A long-time community activist and leader, he currently sits as the chair of the Transportation and Transit Policy Subcommittee as well as the Legislative Commission on Metropolitan Governance.

Rep. Tom Huntley (Duluth)

Rep. Tom Huntley of Duluth is serving his 8th term in the Minnesota House. He is an associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at UMD. He chairs the Minnesota Delegation to the Great Lakes Commission and the House Health Care and Human Services Finance Division.

Rep. Mike Jaros (Duluth)

Rep. Mike Jaros is currently serving his 16th term representing House District 7B in Duluth. He is the chair of the Minnesota Heritage Division of the Finance Committee.

Rep. Sheldon Johnson (Saint Paul)

Rep. Sheldon Johnson is serving his fourth term representing District 67B in St. Paul. He has served as a union steward for Teamsters Local 320.

Rep. Al Juhnke (Willmar)

Rep. Phyllis Kahn (Minneapolis)

State Rep. Phyllis Kahn has represented District 59B in Minneapolis, which includes the University of Minnesota, since her election in 1972. A Ph.D. in biophysics, her legislative interests include science and technology as well as women's rights and natural resources. She authored the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act, and worked on legislation on nuclear safety and gender equity in athletics.

Rep. Kate Knuth (New Brighton)

Rep. Kate Knuth is serving her first term in House District 50B, which includes New Brighton, Columbia Heights, and Fridley. Rep. Knuth is a trained biologist, and she currently holds the position of Environmental Education Specialist at Hamline University's Graduate School of Education.

Rep. Lyle Koenen (Clara City)

Rep. Lyle Koenen is currently serving his third term representing District 20B in west central Minnesota. A farmer who studied agriculture at Willmar Technical College, he is the chair of the Veterans Affairs Division.

Rep. Scott Kranz (Blaine)

Rep. Scott Kranz is currently serving his first term representing House District 51A, including parts of Ramsey and Anoka County. Rep. Kranz is a social studies teacher.

Rep. Carolyn Laine (Columbia Heights)

Representative Carolyn Laine is currently serving her 1st term representing House District 50A, including Columbia Heights. Having served 10 years on the Columbia Heights School Board prior to being elected to the MN House of Representatives, Rep. Laine serves on the E-12 Education Committee.

Rep. Ann Lenczewski (Bloomington)

Rep. Ann Lenczewski is in her fifth term serving District 40B, which includes parts of Burnsville, Savage and Bloomington. She studied public policy at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute, and now chairs the Taxes committee.

Rep. John Lesch (St. Paul)

Rep. John Lesch is currently serving his third term representing House District 66A in St. Paul. He chairs the Crime Victims Subcommittee. Rep. Lesch is also an Assistant City Attorney for the City of St. Paul, prosecuting domestic assault crimes.

Asst. House Majority Leader Tina Liebling (Rochester)

Rep. Tina Liebling represents Rochester's District 30A. The 2008 Legislative Session saw Rep. Liebling take a leadership role in her advocacy of the Safe Roads and Bridges Improvement Act.

Rep. Bernie Lieder is currently serving his 12th term representing House District 1B, covering part or all of Red Lake, Marshall, Polk, and Pennington Counties in Northwest Minnesota. A former engineer who served in the military for over two decades, he chairs the Transportation Division of the Finance Committee.

Rep. Leon Lillie (North Saint Paul)

Rep. Leon Lillie is serving his second term from District 55A, which includes North St. Paul and parts of Maplewood. Before his election to the Minnesota House, Rep. Lillie was a North St. Paul City Council Member. He is currently the vice-chair of the Commerce and Labor committee.

Rep. Shelley Madore (Apple Valley)

Rep. Madore is currently serving her first term representing House District 37A, including Apple Valley. A longtime community activist, she serves as Vice-Chair for the Transportation and Transit Policy Subcommittee.

Rep. Tim Mahoney (St. Paul)

Rep. Mahoney is currently serving his fifth term representing house district 67A, including North-Eastern St. Paul. An alumnus of St. Paul Technical College, Rep Mahoney serves as Chair of the Biosciences and Emerging Technology Committee.

Rep. Sandra Masin (Eagan)

Representative Sandra Masin is currently serving her 1st term representing House District 38A, including Eagan. She is Vice Chair of the Telecommunications Regulation and Infrastructure Division Committee.

Asst. House Majority Leader Frank Moe (Bemidji)

Rep. Moe is currently in his second term representing House District 04A, including Bemidji. A graduate of Carleton College, Rep. Moe serves as House Assistant Majority Leader. Rep. Mike Nelson is serving his 3rd term from Brooklyn Park based District 46A. Representative Nelson serves as Assistant Majority Leader and has worked on transportation, and labor issues. In the past year, he has stood up against MnDOT's ineffective transit funding, and Pawlenty's unwise capital investment veto.

Rep. Kim Norton (Rochester)

Rep. Kim Norton is currently serving her first term representing House District 29B, located in Rochester. As a long-time advocate for education and child welfare, Rep. Norton served on the Rochester School Board from 1998 until her election to the House.

Rep. Gene Pelowski Jr.(Winona)

Representative Gene Pelowski is currently serving his 11th term representing House District 31A, including Winona. A graduate of Winona State University and an educator by training, he is Chair of the Governmental Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections.
